For composite bridges made of varying materials such as steel girders and spans, with concrete parapets and decks, the VARIOKIT Composite Bridge System is the ideal solution.

Bridge structures that are constructed with the help of mobile falsework are typically designed as box girder cross-sections or in some cases even T-beam cross-sections are used.

In the case of mobile falsework, the formwork is constructed from standard components of the girder wall formwork. Steel beams with special connections and joints are mainly used for mobile support.  Formwork and scaffolding systems should be well coordinated since there is a close interaction between both systems.

For the forming of the concrete structures, the formwork and falsework is moved to a new concreting position each time, as opposed to the cantilever launching method where the concreted component remains in-situ. Depending on the shape of the structure, an upper or a lower mobile support may be used.

The advantages of using an upper mobile support system is the high capacity on curves and free selection of the bridge cross-section. This also ensures for any multimodal bridges, any railway loading gauge under the new structure is not impactedaffected normally.

The variant with the lower mobile support is advantageous due to lower cost implications. Pre-assembled reinforcing elements can be brought in with the crane ( to provide a time advantage) and suspensions through the structure are not required.
